At Kampung Panas, Sedanau IslandI visited an elderly grandmother 100 years, commonly called Wanha by the neighborhood. He lives a simple life, alone, in a house with a very poor roof - leaking here and there and no longer fit to withstand the rain.
Seeing this condition, I was immediately moved to help. With Allah's permission, I joined repairing the roof of a Wanha houseThis is so that he can sleep and rest in peace, without having to worry about being caught in the rain in his own home.
I also gave a little cash compensation of Rp500,000 and some food packages for his daily needs. It's not much, but I hope it can ease the burden and be a form of affection from me personally to an elderly figure who has passed a century of life's journey.
For me, happiness doesn't always come from big things. It is precisely from moments like this that I feel closest to human values. I believe, you don't have to be an official or rich to help - you just have to have a caring heart and be willing to get involved..
Through the program "Balik Kampung, Bantu Kampung"I want to continue to be present in the community, especially for those who are often overlooked: the elderly who live alone, orphans, widows with no income, or underprivileged families who need a helping hand.
May what I did today be a reminder that life is not just about personal achievement, but about how much we can give meaning to others.
Thank you for all the prayers and support from friends and relatives who continue to strengthen this step.
Best regards,
Bang Wan Safri (BWS)
