A Drop of Love for the Forgotten: BWS Assistance Program for Orphans & Children with Special Needs - Starting September 2025

In remote areas of Natuna, there are still many children who go through the day without a father's embrace. There are also special children-born with physical and mental limitations-who need more than just ordinary attention. They live in silence, in simplicity that is not always feasible, but they are still strong, still smiling, and still hopeful.

Me, Bang Wan Safri (BWS)I didn't want to be just a spectator to these stories of struggle. So, with all limitations but great intentions, I decided to present, becoming a "father" to orphans and children with special needs (ABK) in Natuna-which may have been overlooked.

Start September 2025, I run Monthly Assistance Program for Orphans and Children with Special Needs, which will last for 6 months, reach out four main regions:

  • Seluan Island
  • Sea Island
  • Sedanau
  • Pulau Tiga

Every month, as many as 50 children selected will receive assistance of IDR 300,000, which will be channeled in the form of:

  • Cash,
  • School needs or therapy support equipment, or
  • Transfer to family account,
and can be channeled through GPN Community (Natuna Youth Movement) or Natuna Pulau Tujuh Foundationtwo organizations that have been active in the community and are ready to reach out to children in the field directly.

To ensure that the assistance is really on target, our team will conduct direct surveys to the homes of prospective child recipients.. We will prioritize:

  • Orphans who doesn't have a new father yet,
  • Children with special needs,
  • And families with very limited economic conditions.

Distributions will be made every 10thThe beneficiaries can receive the funds either directly, collectively, through transfers, or through the active role of GPN and Yayasan Natuna Pulau Tujuh, depending on the field conditions and the convenience of the recipient families.

Due to quota limitations, this program is run on a take turns. Children who have not received it this month will try to get their turn in the following month. And vice versa, for the sake of equity and social justice.

I know, IDR 300,000 is not a big number in the eyes of the worldBut I'm sure-if channeled with love and sincerity, the value is priceless. It's not just about money, but about hope, recognition, and reinforcement for those who are often forgotten.

This program is not about me, but about all of us who care.
I believe: when we are present with our hearts, we can be the light in the dark.
We can be a "father" to those who are lost, and a voice to those who are voiceless.

Let's ignite hope together.
