During the afternoon, when my team (BWS) and I were walking around the streets of Ranai, we were shocked by a heartbreaking sight. A dog was lying in a terrible condition. Its entire body was covered in wounds, its skin was broken, its face was swollen and festering. Up close, it was clear that this dog had been suffering for a long time, neglected, and living in extreme pain.

Seeing that condition, my heart was really touched. I couldn't bear to leave it like that. I immediately sought medical assistance so that the dog could receive treatment. Not long after, a team of veterinarians came to the location. Initially, we wanted to give the dog an antibiotic injection to prevent the infection from getting worse. However, the dog was very difficult to tame due to the fear and pain it was experiencing.

Finally, we decided to give the dog food that had been mixed with antibiotics. With patience, the team managed to get the dog to eat the food. From there, the healing efforts began.

Based on the initial examination, the dog was likely suffering from a very severe skin infection due to a combination of parasites, fungi and bacteria. The festering sores and swollen face indicated that the infection had spread. It was also in a very weak condition due to malnutrition and dehydration.

In this endeavor, the role of Bang Siro was also very important as she was the one who was quick to find information about veterinarians and animal lovers to collaborate with. This support really helped speed up the emergency treatment process for this poor dog.

On the other hand, I (BWS) am also grateful to meet a resident with the initials AJ who really had the sincere intention to care for and feed the dog until it recovered. Seeing her sincerity, I committed to cover the entire cost of treatment, from medicine, food, to other needs.

For me, social care is not only for my fellow humans, but also for all living creatures created by God. Every creature deserves the opportunity to be healthy and happy. My hope is that in the future there will be more animal lovers in Natuna who are really serious about caring for abandoned and sick animals, so that they can also get a decent life.

May this poor dog recover soon, and may this story inspire us all to care more, not only for humans, but also for animals in need.
